The new stock of padfolios also come in cotton bags, however there is still some old stock currently without cotton bags which just needs to sell out.

The leather is around 2mm thick on average (but this will always vary depending on every new drum of leather hide used).

As all our products are made from 100% real leather, it is therefore a natural product which always produces a variation in the look and feel. This means that you get a beautifully unique product not quite like anyone else’s!
If you are not happy with the leather appearance, please get in touch and we will do all we can to help you.

Our leather is naturally distressed and tanned with special oil – this is what gives the real leather its vintage appearance. Don’t worry if you see scratches, rub the blemish slowly with your thumb and the natural oils on your hands will help it fade!
Again, if you feel that the marks are too severe or you can’t remove them, please get in touch.

The raw leather used to make our products comes to the approved tanneries from other industries as a by-product so the whole animal has already been used for other purposes and is not killed purely for the hide.

You can use any type of natural leather conditioner or oil to keep the leather moisturized if you wish but it depends on the look you want to achieve as it is likely to change its appearance and could make it shinier and/or darker than in its original form.

You can also use mink oil and vegetable oils to darken/soften the leather if desired. We hope you love using your product.

The word “antique” refers to the rustic/antique look of the leather due to the creases and markings on it brought about by the tanning process, rather than the age of the item.

We are an FBA Seller which means that we pay Amazon to warehouse our stock and ship it for us and as such we’re unable to offer any kind of personalisation service.   

We do know of customers who have used local leather engravers to personalize it using embossing or engraving techniques.

Due to a huge increase in competition and other sellers copying our design we have decided to brand our products with the Moonster logo in order to protect and promote our brand. We are now phasing branding in on all our products however there will be some cross over in the meantime with newer stock being branded and older stock not (unfortunately we are unable to select which journal you receive as Amazon is responsible for all our warehousing and shipping). We are aware that many customers do not like overt branding and so have tried to incorporate our branding in a subtle way - it's very small, only 2.5cm wide and placed on the inside cover so that it can’t be seen from the outside but so that customers are still able to identify our brand.

Washbags: (Branding is overt on the washbag so customers should be able to see this very obviously so we’re unlikely to get questions over branding for the washbags).

Padfolios: Currently there is no branding on the padfolios.

It depends on how much ink the type of ink pen lays down through the nib. Some customers have said they have had very good results with ink pens. One or two customers have said that they have had a little bleed through. The cotton paper is quite fibrous and thick, so it has the ability to absorb ink well.

Customers have told us they have used it for watercolors and oils with success. If you search some of the reviews some of them have described how it went and posted pictures of the results. The paper is thick and holds paint well.

Depends on which journal you’re referring to, but the paper would be just slightly smaller than the covers. So just a fraction smaller than 7x5 and 8x6.

A lot of our journals are non-refillable keepsake journals. However, we do have a clearly named Refillable Journal in our shop and our Psalm 46 Embossed Journal is also refillable. Watch this space for our Tree and Heart Journals to soon come as refillable option. We also supply lined and unlined refills for our refillable journals.

Yes, all of our journals lay flat when they are opened. Due to the type of soft leather we use, when you open the cover, the weight of the leather holds the pages open nicely.

The 8x6 journal is currently the largest journal that we make however we are looking into the possibility of larger sizes in the future.

Some people have accidentally used these journals upside down when they open the front cover, which technically would be the way a left handed person could use it - so it could be used like that!

Unfortunately we only make one type of Padfolio as currently we don’t have enough demand to support production of a left-handed version. We’re really sorry for the inconvenience.

The portfolio is lightly padded and is about ⅝ of an inch thick when closed.

The fabric inside the bag is water resistant, not waterproof.
